Boat crashes into Sheboygan North Pier

At approximately 10:13 PM on Wednesday, August 25th, the Sheboygan County Emergency Communications Center received information regarding a boat accident on Lake Michigan. The Sheboygan Fire Department was dispatched to the pier at the request of the U.S. Coast Guard for two people who reportedly hit their heads on the pier.

It was found that a boat had crashed into the North Pier. As a result of the collision, the two boat occupants were severely injured and transported to St. Nicholas Hospital and Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.

The Sheboygan County Dive Team was activated to search Lake Michigan for possible additional victims who may have been ejected from the boat. After a nearly two hour long search including a helicopter from the U.S. Coast Guard, authorities were able to confirm there were only two persons on the boat at the time of the crash.
